Senior Portfolio Accountant

Overview

We are seeking a Senior Portfolio Accountant to oversee financial management and reporting for a portfolio of government contracts, primarily Firm-Fixed-Price (FFP), supporting mining and natural resource programs. This role is responsible for ensuring accurate financial reporting, contract compliance, margin performance, and close coordination with program and operations teams.

• Own full financial oversight for a portfolio of FFP government contracts supporting mining, exploration, and site operations.
• Manage revenue recognition, cost tracking, margin analysis, and profitability forecasting at the contract and portfolio level.
• Monitor contract performance against budgets, identifying risks, variances, and cost trends early.
• Support contract setup, funding modifications, and financial impacts of scope or rate changes.

• Lead month-end close activities for assigned contracts, including journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and variance analysis.
• Prepare accurate, timely contract financial reporting for leadership, program managers, and external stakeholders.
• Maintain audit-ready documentation in compliance with GAAP, FAR, and company policies.

• Ensure compliance with government contracting requirements, internal controls, and established accounting procedures.
• Support internal and external audits, DCAA inquiries, and contract financial reviews as needed.
• Maintain working knowledge of government cost principles and contract compliance expectations.
