Position OverviewThe Director of Finance directs district financial operations and supports the Business Administrator in ensuring fiscal accountability and compliance with financial regulations. This position oversees budgeting, financial reporting, accounting systems, and financial planning to ensure efficient use of district resources.
Key Responsibilities- Analyze financial information, including budget projections, cost analyses, and financial reports.
- Direct department operations and financial procedures.
- Maintain fiscal records, including payroll, accounts payable, and contracts.
- Manage budget preparation and financial reporting processes.
- Monitor budget allocations, expenditures, and fund balances.
- Collaborate with administrators, auditors, and external agencies.
- Prepare financial reports and presentations for district leadership.
- Provide guidance to staff regarding financial procedures and compliance requirements.
- Represent the Business Administrator when assigned.
- Supervise personnel, including hiring, training, and evaluation.
- Participate in meetings and trainings related to financial planning and operations.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.

ExperienceRequired
:
- Five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in accounting, finance, budgeting, or fiscal management.
- Three (3) years of supervisory or management experience.
- Experience in preparing and monitoring budgets and financial reports.
Preferred
:
- Experience in the public sector or governmental accounting.
- Experience in K–12 school district finance.
- Experience managing state and federal education funding programs.
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Public Administration, or a closely related field required.
Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Public Administration, or a closely related field preferred.
