Overview

Space Dynamics Laboratory (SDL) is seeking an Information System Project Manager (ISPM) to support our Infrastructure team. The selected candidate owns the delivery of assigned information systems and IT projects end-to-end. The ISPM is accountable for scope, schedule, cost, risks, and—most importantly—quality. The ISPM works directly with engineers, administrators, security, and program stakeholders to translate engineering processes into concrete project plans and engineering artifacts, ensuring systems are delivered in a compliant, supportable, and operationally sound state.

The ISPM is expected to actively drive the engineering process, challenge gaps, ensure rigorous documentation, and hold teams accountable to agreed outcomes and deliverables. This position is onsite, non-remote in our North Logan, UT location.

Key Responsibilities
  • Owns, manages, and ensures quality delivery of assigned information systems and IT projects from initiation through sustainment and disposition
  • Serves as the single accountable owner for project scope, schedule, cost, risks, deliverables, and ongoing operational outcomes
  • Maintains ownership of assigned production services, including accountability for system health, availability, stability, supportability, and continuous improvement over the system lifecycle
  • Works directly with engineers and technical teams to develop and maintain required engineering artifacts, including requirements, WBS, resource plans, cost estimates, test plans, success criteria, backout procedures, and maintenance plans
  • Ensures adherence to established engineering, change management, and governance processes
  • Builds and manages realistic project schedules aligned with technical dependencies, operational constraints, and resource availability
  • Identifies project risks early and actively develops and executes mitigation strategies
  • Plans, approves, and sequences changes into production environments, balancing delivery objectives with operational risk and service continuity
  • Coordinates and obtains required approvals, including CAB, software approvals, and IA/security reviews
  • Communicates project status, risks, and decisions clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Provides management for the systems portion of the infrastructure team, including prioritization of work, workload balancing, coaching, and performance management
  • Ensures systems meet defined success criteria and transition cleanly to operations with appropriate documentation, training, and sustainment planning
  • Owns and manages incident response and operational support for assigned systems, including coordination of response activities, decision-making, and post-incident corrective action
  • Contributes hands-on technical support as a member of the operations team to meet defined support service level objectives (SLOs)

  • 10+ years of experience in IT roles, including 2+ years related to project management
  • Demonstrated ability to work directly with engineers and technical teams on infrastructure, systems, cloud, and cyber projects
  • Working knowledge of networking, systems administration, cybersecurity, and/or cloud environments
  • Strong understanding of project management fundamentals, including requirements gathering, WBS development, scheduling, risk management, and stakeholder communication
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to drive clarity and accountability across technical and non-technical audiences
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously without losing rigor or quality
  • Must be a U.S. citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance
