Overview
This full-time, non-exempt position of Technical Coordinator Senior is dedicated to maintaining, troubleshooting, installing, and evaluating classroom technology. The position will be housed in the Classroom Technology and AV on the Utah State University Logan Campus. It reports to the Classroom Technology supervisor. Work hours are from 10-7, with possible additional evenings and weekend hours as needed.
Responsibilities- Classroom Support (45%): Troubleshoot issues brought to the CIDI Support team, assuring high-quality customer service and prompt responses to USU staff, administrators, faculty members, students, and HELP Desk with classroom technology support.
- Classroom Maintenance (35%): Repair and replace equipment as necessary and maintain classroom technology equipment on the Logan campus. Work with classroom student employees to perform routine preventative maintenance and repair tasks.
- Phone Support (10%): Overflow support.
- Classroom Technology Design and Evaluation (5%): Using the latest best practices, market research, and USU standards, design technology-enhanced classrooms and evaluate its effectiveness in the teaching and learning environment. Contribute advanced knowledge to the statewide tech team to develop and follow USU classroom technology standards.
- Other duties as assigned (5%): Additional duties as required.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Associate degree plus four years of experience; or a bachelor’s degree in an IT related field plus two years of experience; or an equivalent combination of education plus experience is required.
- Experience in audio/video equipment installation.
- Experience in troubleshooting audio/video equipment.
- Demonstrated ability to solve problems, work well under pressure, manage multiple/routine tasks simultaneously, take initiative within project scope, maintain confidentiality, and work with little supervision.
- Strong, established track record of exceptional customer service, training, and technology support.
- Demonstrated capacity for exceptional interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills (verbal and written).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Successful work experience with video conferencing classroom design, technology use, and IT support.
- Crestron control programming.
- Experience performing classroom installations and maintenance.
- Knowledge of USU policies and procedures.
- Attention to detail and task completion.
- Excellent PC and Mac computer skills (data entry, Word, Excel, Outlook, Internet).
- Willingness to undertake any necessary training needed to perform job functions or to enhance performance.
- Ability to learn new systems.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with other technical staff in a team environment.
- Ability to train others, both non-technical end-users and technical staff.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed instructions.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions, prioritize, and take action.
- Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Able and willing to travel as needed.

Advertised SalaryMinimum of $49,499 commensurate with experience plus excellent benefits.
ADAEmployees work indoors, except when transitioning between buildings, and are generally protected from weather and/or contaminants, but not necessarily from occasional temperature changes. Employees are frequently required to sit, stand, walk, bend, stoop, use hands and fingers, and reach with hands and arms. Employees must be able to lift and move up to 80 pounds, work from ladders or elevated surfaces, and retrieve and transport audiovisual equipment.
