The Website Communications Specialist manages the district’s web-based communication initiatives by maintaining the district’s online presence, overseeing website content and functionality, ensuring accessibility and compliance standards, supporting school and department web managers, and promoting effective digital communication with students, families, staff, and community stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities- Manage district websites, content management systems (CMS), and online communication platforms.
- Maintain website architecture, navigation, user permissions, and content organization to ensure a positive user experience.
- Monitor and improve website accessibility in accordance with ADA and WCAG standards.
- Ensure compliance with data privacy requirements and district web publishing standards.
- Develop, edit, and maintain web content, including articles, announcements, graphics, forms, and multimedia resources.
- Support district and school web managers by providing training, technical assistance, and quality control.
- Audit district and school websites to ensure content accuracy, consistency, and accessibility.
- Analyze website traffic, user behavior, and search trends using analytics tools to improve website effectiveness.
- Implement search engine optimization (SEO) strategies to improve visibility of district programs, enrollment information, employment opportunities, and public resources.
- Collaborate with the communications team to integrate photography, video, graphics, and other digital content into district websites.
- Respond to inquiries regarding website functionality, content management, and online communications.
- Participate in communications planning meetings and digital communications projects.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.

Works under limited supervision, coordinating website communication activities, maintaining district web platforms, supporting school web managers, and ensuring compliance with accessibility and communication standards.
Work EnvironmentWork is performed primarily in office and school environments with occasional travel to district events and training locations.
ExperienceJob-related experience in website management, digital communications, or related fields is required.
EducationBachelor’s degree in Web Design, Communications, Information Technology, Digital Media, or a related field.
