Accessibility Coordinator IDRPP VISTA

his full-time, one-year Ameri Corps VISTA position is hosted by the Public & School Partnership and is based at the Institute of Disability Policy & Practice at Utah State University in Logan, UT. The IDRPP aims to alleviate poverty for individuals with disabilities by ensuring they are aware of opportunities and have access to community services. Ameri Corps VISTA is a national service program.

All Ameri Corps VISTA positions are full-time hours for one calendar year, as mandated by the Corporation for National and Community Service. Successful completion of a one-year service term qualifies all VISTA members for either an education award of $7,395 or a cash stipend of $1800 (direct deposit). Member Duties :
The VISTA member will strengthen the internal capacity of the USU Institute for Disability Research, Policy & Practice by supporting improvements to organizational systems, processes and infrastructure that help the Institute operate more efficiently and inclusively. The member will assist with developing and organizing internal tools, guides and documentation that support staff in implementing accessible practices across programs and initiatives.

Activities may include helping review materials for accessibility, organizing and documenting internal procedures, and supporting the development of resources that promote compliance with accessibility standards. The member will also assist in improving systems used to coordinate programs, research projects, trainings, events, and communications. This may include helping organize information, updating internal resources, and identifying opportunities to streamline processes that support accessible and inclusive engagement.
