Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) is a professional caregiver who assumes responsibility for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating the care of patients. The RN utilizes the nursing process with technology, therapeutic intervention, evidence-based practice, and coordination of care with other health team members.

• Assess:
  Performs assessment of physical, social, psychological status, including cognitive, communicative, and developmental skills as appropriate. Seeks and evaluates information from other team members: patient, family, physician, non‑nursing disciplines, and support staff.
• Plan:
  Uses assessment information and critical thinking to develop individualized plan of care. Actively involves patient, family, team, and physician. Includes education, referrals, and follow‑up.
• Implement:
  Directs interdisciplinary care team via delegation, coordination, and collaboration. Provides or delegates care consistent with plan, guidelines, and licensure provisions. Prioritizes and organizes patient care delivery, manages time, supplies, and resources.
• Evaluate:
  Evaluates patient response to interventions, reviews achievement of goals, clinical outcomes, and satisfaction. Revises plan of care and reassesses changes as appropriate.
• Professionalism:
  Promotes nursing profession, participates in development of others. Integrates legal and ethical standards into practice, complies with regulatory standards, and documents accurately and timely. Understands legal implications of care delivery.

• Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state of practice. Valid compact licenses must be transferred within 60 days of employment.
• RNs with less than 12 months of experience must obtain a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) within four years of hire date.
• Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) for healthcare providers.

• Bachelor's degree in nursing (BSN) from an accredited institution.
• BSN required as of 4/27/2025 (earlier hires retained under prior requirements).

• Ongoing need to see and read information, labels, and assess patient needs; operate monitors; identify equipment and supplies.
• Frequent verbal communication with patients, providers, and visitors; understand alarms and emergency information.
• Manual dexterity for manipulating equipment and typing documentation.
• Expected to lift, transfer, and carry supplies of varying weight, including heavy items.
• Walking, transporting, and ambulating patients; operating gurneys and equipment.
• May need to stand for extended periods.
• Driving: ability to operate a vehicle and read signs and signals.

Intermountain Health Logan Regional Hospital, Logan, Utah

Scheduled weekly hours: 18 hours. Hourly rate: $34.53 - $52.25 (dependent on experience).
