Intermountain Health is seeking experienced, adaptable Registered Nurses to join our Northern Utah Resource Pool, supporting care across McKay-Dee Hospital in Ogden, Logan Regional Hospital in Logan, Layton Hospital in Layton, and Bear River Valley Hospital in Tremonton.

As a Resource Pool RN, you'll provide clinical support across designated inpatient units and specialty areas based on patient care needs, staffing demands, and clinical competencies. McKay-Dee Hospital serves as a cornerstone of healthcare in Northern Utah, offering 302 patient beds and more than 60 medical specialties. As a Level II Trauma Center, McKay-Dee provides advanced, comprehensive care while serving as a trusted community partner and regional healthcare leader.

Logan Regional Hospital, located in the scenic Cache Valley, is a 125-bed community hospital and Level III Trauma Center known for delivering high-quality, compassionate care supported by advanced medical technology.

Layton Hospital is a modern, patient-centered facility dedicated to providing exceptional healthcare services to families throughout Davis County and surrounding communities.

Bear River Valley Hospital offers personalized, community-focused care while expanding access to high-quality healthcare services across Northern Utah.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver safe, compassionate, evidence-based nursing care across a variety of patient populations and clinical settings.
  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care.
  • Recognize and respond appropriately to changes in patient condition.
  • Collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate care and achieve optimal patient outcomes.
  • Administer medications, treatments, and procedures in accordance with organizational policies and evidence-based practices.
  • Document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately and timely.
  • Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans, care needs, and discharge instructions.
  • Adapt to varying patient volumes, workflows, and clinical environments while maintaining quality and safety standards.
  • Support a culture of teamwork, professionalism, and continuous improvement.
  • Serve as a trusted resource and advocate for patients, families, and fellow caregivers.
  • Cross-train across specialty areas with opportunities for additional compensation incentives.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Current RN license in the state of practice. Valid compact licenses must be transferred to the state of practice within 60 days of the start of employment.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification for Healthcare Providers.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in nursing (BSN). Education must be obtained from an accredited institution. Degree will be verified.
  • RNs with less than 12 months of experience must obtain their Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) within four (4) years of their hire date.
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is required as of the job description's last update on 4/27/2025. Employees hired or promoted prior to this date will be held to the minimum requirements that were in place at the time of their promotion or hire.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Previous Acute Care, Medical-Surgical, Women's Services, Labor & Delivery, Critical Care, Emergency Department, or other hospital-based RN experience.
  • Strong communication, critical thinking, and prioritization skills.
  • Ability to adapt quickly and work effectively in a variety of clinical environments.
  • Previous float pool or cross-trained nursing experience preferred.
