- Receive animals for postmortem evaluation, incineration, and cremation.
- Assist the on-duty veterinary pathologist in conducting gross postmortem examinations.
- Clean the necropsy laboratory following postmortem examinations.
- Assist in subsampling of preserved tissues.
- Keep necropsy and subsampling laboratories stocked and ready for use. Order supplies as needed.
- Keep necropsy and subsampling laboratories clean and odor-free.
- Perform incinerations and cremations.
- Keep the area around the incinerator tidy.
Experience working with animal body tissues and fluids
Work environment is primarily indoors with exposure to animal organs/tissues and body fluids.
Need to be able to move about for extended periods of time. Able to lift up to 40 lbs. Attention to detail.
