Overview
Summary:
Prepares meals which requires coordinating the cooking of several items with different cooking times and characteristics. Plans the cooking process to produce complete meals on time and at the proper temperature.
- Prepare items for cooking by washing, peeling, dicing, shredding, cutting, and slicing food products as assigned.
- Prepare food items for employees in a timely and consistent manner.
- Ensure ingredients and final products are fresh.
- Store leftover food properly.
- Test the temperature of foods at specified intervals.
- Clean, organize, and maintain refrigerators, coolers, and dry storage areas; restock items as needed.
- Understand and comply with food safety and temperature standards.
- Follow recipes, including measuring, weighing, and mixing ingredients.
- Cook meats, vegetables, fish, poultry, and other foods by baking, grilling, steaming, and braising.
- Manage all facets of the assigned station (hot food, cold food items, dessert).
- Perform daily cleaning tasks, including stoves, ovens, refrigerators, and storage areas.
- Sort and rinse dirty dishes, glassware, tableware, and other cooking utensils.
- Remove trash and dispose of garbage.
- Work efficiently and with quality, maintaining a positive and professional approach with coworkers.
- Wipe spills to keep kitchen floors dry and clean.
- Complete other tasks/assignments as needed.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
- Candidates must pass a pre-employment background check and drug test.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
- Cash register experience preferred.
- Employee will receive job-specific training needed to succeed in this position.
- Monday through Friday from 6:00 am to 4:00 pm; varied hours.
- Weekends not required.
- Training pay starts at $17.50/hour with potential to reach $18.25/hour after meeting all skill levels.
