Inside Sales Representative
We are seeking an experienced sales individual to join our Inside Sales team. In this integral role you will establish and improve customer relationships, process quotes and orders for customers, build rapport with customers, and record information for product delivery.
What you’ll do:- Communicate with customers by phone or in person to receive orders for products.
- Solicit sales of new or additional products.
- Practice good interpersonal relations and telephone etiquette as a representative of the company.
- Liaise between the customer and Codale departments including credit purchasing, warehouse, outside sales and management.
- Determine make, type, and quality of merchandise desired by being familiar with products sold in the department.
- Identify and use appropriate company and/or customer pricing systems.
- Make phone calls to regular and prospective customers to solicit orders.
- Describe or demonstrate product, using samples or catalog, and emphasize sellable features.
- Compile lists of prospective customers for use as sales leads.
- Provide oral and written quotations or estimates of prices, terms and delivery for standard, complex or non-standard merchandise.
- Prepare cash or charge sales tickets with required identification and information for customer, merchandise, price, and sales tax status for processing, shipment and delivery of merchandise in a timely manner.
- Estimate date of delivery to customer based on knowledge of company delivery schedules.
- Purchase materials following approved purchasing procedures.
- Review complaints concerning billing or products sold, referring complaints to designated departments for investigation and resolution.
- Prepare correspondence and reports necessary for business transactions.
- Follow up on all quotations to attempt to convert them to orders or prepare for future quotations.
- Handle difficulties with customers with diplomacy and seek assistance when needed.
- Acquire, use and continuously develop personal technical knowledge of general and specialty merchandise items to assist customers and other company personnel.
- Other responsibilities may be assigned.
- Intermediate product and application knowledge essential.
- Customer oriented and motivated with excellent communication, presentation, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Strong interpersonal skills with a focus on an excellent customer experience.
- Familiar with Microsoft Office as well as relevant ERP systems and Customer Relationship Management Tools (CRM).
Monday‑Friday — 8:00 am‑5:00 pm
