Job Type: Full‑Time, Permanent
Salary: $100,000 – $110,000 USD
Bonus Opportunities: up to 50% quarterly, based on quarterly earned wages

The Area Director of Sales and Marketing provides strategic sales leadership across all four assets, with responsibility for driving group, corporate, convention, catering, leisure, and local business. This role is on‑site at the Riverwoods Convention Center and oversees four direct reports
, including two Sales Managers and two Sales Coordinators
. The position partners closely with hotel leadership, convention center management, and restaurant operations to maximize total portfolio revenue through coordinated sales strategies and cross‑selling efforts. While the Director of Sales reports directly to the General Manager, the Regional Sales and Marketing Manager will interface and assist in the direction of the Sales and Marketing function at the property.
- Serve as the primary sales leader for the Logan and Cache Valley market, with deep accountability for local revenue generation across hotels, convention center, and restaurant.
- Leverage existing local market knowledge and relationships to drive group, convention, corporate, SMERF, catering, and extended‑stay business.
- Actively develop and maintain relationships with local meeting planners, Utah State University stakeholders, regional businesses, healthcare organizations, associations, and government entities.
- Represent the portfolio within the community through local networking, civic engagement, tourism partnerships, and chamber involvement.
- Develop and execute integrated sales strategies that maximize cross‑selling opportunities between the two hotels, Riverwoods Convention Center, and Elements Restaurant.
- Drive local and regional group demand tied to university calendars, seasonal events, conferences, weddings, and community functions.
- Partner with Revenue Management to support localized pricing strategies, competitive analysis, and demand forecasting.
- Lead sales efforts for Riverwoods Convention Center, including conference, wedding, and event business.
- Align hotel room blocks, catering revenue, and F&B offerings to maximize total portfolio revenue.
- Support event‑driven marketing initiatives that attract both local and regional attendees.
- Oversee local sales and marketing initiatives, ensuring brand compliance for Marriott hotels while supporting customized local strategies for non‑branded assets.
- Guide promotional efforts that highlight the portfolio’s connection to local demand drivers and community events.
- Lead and develop a sales team of 4 direct reports, including 2 Sales Managers and 2 Sales Coordinators.
- Provide hands‑on coaching, accountability, and performance management to drive strong local and regional results.
- Collaborate closely with on‑site General Managers, Convention Center leadership, and Restaurant leadership to ensure alignment and execution.
