Streets Laborer

Overview

Under general supervision, the employee will assist with the City’s annual construction projects and perform various physical labor tasks, including raking, shoveling, street cleaning, traffic control, and painting. The employee will maintain a safe traffic‑controlled environment for the public and coworkers and operate equipment such as concrete grinders, power washers, paint machines, pickup trucks, and hand tools. Some contact with the public occurs, and overtime may be required.

• Provide a safe traffic‑controlled environment for the public and coworkers.
• Operate equipment including concrete grinders, power washers, paint machines, pickup trucks, and hand tools.
• Assist with physical labor tasks such as raking, shoveling, street cleaning, and painting.
• Communicate with the public as required.

• Minimum age 18 years.
• In good physical condition, able to work in dusty or extreme temperature conditions.
• Valid Utah Driver’s License.
• Ability to follow written and verbal directions and communicate effectively with the public and coworkers.
• Ability to work in summer heat and fall cold; may require state or city certifications per assignment.
