Summary:
Transports and delivers varied lubricants, fuels, and/or chemicals. Prepares and maintains daily updated manifest in order to meet Department of Transportation (Use the "Apply for this Job" box below). Complies with all company policies and federal, state, and local rules and regulations regarding the safe transport of materials. Assures that truck and/or trailer is always properly placarded and loaded to meet DOT regulations. Completes paperwork promptly and accurately and returns to appropriate personnel.
May perform material and product loading and unloading activities. May drive locally or long distance.
- Transports and delivers varied lubricants, fuels, and/or chemicals.
- Prepares and maintains daily updated manifest to meet DOT requirements.
- Complies with all company policies and federal, state, and local rules and regulations regarding the safe transport of materials.
- Ensures truck and/or trailer is properly placarded and loaded to meet DOT regulations.
- Completes paperwork promptly and accurately and returns to appropriate personnel.
- May perform material and product loading and unloading activities.
- May drive locally or long distance.
- Class A commercial driver’s license required.
- Tank, and Haz Mat endorsements required.
- 1 year’s liquid hauling driving experience in a Class A vehicle within the last 3 years required.
- Review of current 1- and/or 2-year medical card and physical long forms. Willing to accept a document administered within the last 6 months from date of application.
- Ability to work with sections of hose that may exceed 20' in length, measure 4' in diameter, and lift as much as 50lbs occasionally.
- Ability to couple hoses to connect and disconnect hoses.
- Ability to drive truck off road, on roads that are narrow and have steep inclines.
- Ability to properly install tire chains in snowy, icy, and muddy conditions.
- Ability to safely climb ladders and walk on top of truck tanks.
- Ability to stand and/or sit for prolonged periods.
- Ability to pass DOT pre-employment screenings including but not limited to DOT drug test, MVR, physical, Background, Inspection Report, Clearinghouse, and CMV road test.
- Per the FMCSA, drivers of CMVs operating in interstate commerce must be able to read and speak English sufficiently to converse with the general public, understand highway traffic signs and signals, respond to official inquiries, and make entries on reports and records.
- High School Diploma or GED Required.
- Walk, bend, reach, push, pull, stoop, squat, and climb, as required, to perform required vehicle inspections.
- Frequently climb in and out of a large truck.
- Extended schedule may be required as dictated by management and business needs.
- May be required to lift, push, or pull materials weighing up to 100 pounds.
- May be required to be exposed to extreme weather conditions (snow, ice, heat, winds).
- Remote locations.
- Occasionally climb ladders to inspect inside the cargo tank following loading or unloading.
- Sit for extended periods of time in a truck and be able to drive, for as many as 11 hours while transporting hazardous materials such as gasoline and diesel fuel.
