Description

Under general supervision, operates heavy equipment (i.e. wheel loader, track loader, compactor, dump truck, transfer truck and various other equipment) related to the daily operations of the landfill, transfer station, or green waste facility.

• Must be a high school graduate or equivalent.
• Must possess a valid Utah Commercial Driver's License (CDL) at a level appropriate to the equipment operated (Class
  
  A).
• Experience in customer service.
• Must have six (6) months of experience operating heavy equipment.
• Computer experience desirable.

• Operate wheel loader, track loader, compactor, transfer truck, grinder, and trommel screen.
• Clean up green waste area.
• Load customers and direct them to proper areas.
• Work in C&D or transfer station.
• Be flexible on work hours, 2-3 days per week (10 hr. shift) depending on department needs.

• Knowledge of landfill and composting process helpful.
• Knowledge of hazards and applicable safety precautions for heavy equipment operation.
• Knowledge of equipment maintenance, capabilities, limitations and safe operations.
• Able to work in extreme hot, cold, wet, and dusty conditions.
• Must be capable of lifting 75 lbs. without adverse consequences.
• Ability to establish satisfactory working relationships with fellow employees and the general public.
• Be able to get in and out of vehicles repeatedly.
