Full Time - Firefighter Recruit

The City of Loganville is accepting applications for the position of Firefighter Recruit. This is a skilled position in fire prevention, extinguishing, and rescue activities. The firefighter will respond to emergency calls for fire suppression, medical assistance, hazardous materials incidents, motor vehicle accidents, and other emergencies. The successful candidate will be able to learn firefighting techniques quickly, understand department rules, and work well under pressure.

• Respond to emergency calls for fire suppression, medical assistance, hazardous materials incidents, motor vehicle accidents, and other emergencies.
• Learn and apply firefighting techniques, procedures, and department rules.
• Follow detailed oral instructions and work well under pressure.
• Learn and patrol assigned territory.

• Completion of high school diploma or GED.
• Minimum age 18 years.
• Valid driver’s license with satisfactory 7‑year motor vehicle record.
• Ability to pass a pre‑employment written test, physical agility test, and drug screen test.

The successful applicant must have the ability to obtain AEMT and NPQ firefighter I and II within 24 months of hiring.

• Background check showing no felony convictions within the last 10 years.
