Medical Doctor, Radiologist, Healthcare Consultant
Loma Linda University Faculty Medical Group, Department of Radiology, is seeking a Nationally Certified Radiology Physician Assistant (RPA) for a Full-Time Interventional Radiology opportunity. While 1 – 3 years of experience in Radiology is preferred, on-the-job training in the clinical and procedural nuances of this specialty will be provided upon hiring.
RPAs use state-of-the-art technology, including ultrasound, X-ray / fluoroscopy, computer tomography (CT), and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) machines to both diagnose and treat patients with a variety of ailments, from the routine to the complex and life‑threatening. RPAs work under the close supervision of a licensed interventional radiologist. They play a crucial role in the initial evaluation and triage of new IR consults, assist interventional radiologists with invasive and non‑invasive procedures, educate patients on upcoming procedures, assist in follow‑up after procedures have been completed, evaluate quality of the images, and report findings to the supervising radiologist.
Graded autonomy is expected, with many RPAs functioning fairly independently throughout the day after the training period, reporting intermittently to the attending interventional radiologist.
