Overview
The Staff Accountant will be responsible for daily receivable transactions and maintenance of the monthly general ledger. The Staff Accountant will provide support with various accounting transactions.
Compensation- Competitive compensation package of minimum $65,000 – maximum $81,000 (DOE)
- Vacation: minimum of two (2) weeks
- Sick days: 5 days
- Holidays: 12 days; 8 standard and 4 floating

- Responsible for organizing monthly general ledger activity for input into the accounting system.
- Monitors account balances and makes necessary adjustments. Prepares journal entries.
- Prepares and processes documentation for internal and external auditors.
- Identifies and investigates problems with the accounting system on an as-needed basis.
- Works closely with the field to ensure accuracy of accounting information.
- Prepares income and balance sheet statements and various other accounting statements and reports for submission to the Department Lead.
- Reviews and verifies the accuracy of journal entries and accounting classifications assigned to various records.
- Conducts special studies and develops or recommends accounting methods and procedures.
- Performs monthly bank reconciliations and account analysis.
- Reconciles assigned accounts and calculates depreciation/amortization expenses as needed.
- May assist with training and mentoring Accountants.
- Analyzes trends, costs, revenues, financial commitments, and obligations incurred to predict future revenues and expenses.
- Analyzes financial reports and records, making recommendations for the accounting of reserves, assets, and expenditures.
- All other accounting duties as assigned.
- High School Diploma required
- Bachelor's degree in accounting preferred
- 2 to 5 years of experience in an accounting department required
- Thorough knowledge of accounting practices and procedures
- Ability to meet deadlines
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel
- Experience with MS Office products
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent organization skills
- Knowledge of automated account system, J.D. Edwards System is a plus
This is an in-office role at the company HQ in Lombard Illinois.
