JOB GOALTo Assist in the effective management of the school office, specifically and function as communication liaison to community, staff and students.

RESPONSIBILITIES- Greets and directs visitors and monitors video surveillance systems.
- Maintaining confidentiality of sensitive information. Receives and directs phone calls and records messages.
- Responds to staff and student needs and directs requests to appropriate departments.
- Assists office staff with clerical and office tasks such as:
- Sorting mail received
- Organizing material for mailings
- Making copies
- Maintaining files (physical and digital)
- Completing special projects
- Perform all clerical tasks related to the responsibilities of the office (including the issuance of 's, student discipline reports and data entry, detention sign-ups).
- Performs clerical tasks for administrators, teachers and other staff members.
- Maintains a well organized office area that projects a high quality, efficient image of the office environment.
- Creates a pleasant, helpful atmosphere to all who have occasion to contact the school office.
- Communicates politely with students, parents, citizens and all District 44 employees.
- Practices the public relations aspect of the job.
- Performs other related duties as assigned by the principal.
- Excellent verbal communication and active listening skills for professional interaction with visitors and callers
- Ability to handle, organize, and transport office materials and supplies as needed
- Proficient in operating standard office equipment, including multi-line phone systems, printers, copiers, and scanners
- Capable of accessing, organizing, and maintaining files on both high and low shelving systems
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Strong proficiency in word processing and database software, with accurate data entry skills
- Experience in a public school or school district office setting.
- 8 hour position/ 10.5 months per school year.
- 210 days Administrator & ESP Calendar with paid holidays.
- Salary and conditions established by the Board of Education.
- Performance is evaluated twice the first year and every other year thereafter by building administration.
