The Permit Coordinator will support the permitting process. The permit coordinator is responsible for acquiring permitting information, completing the application and fee processes, supporting the team with compliance, data and entry, and record keeping for all tasks associated with the permitting process.
What you will do- Acquire up-to-date permitting information from local jurisdictions and pull necessary information to complete permit packages for overhead and underground power line installations
- Acquire permit fee amounts, complete permit application, and submit check requests
- Meet with local jurisdictions, understand and track all permitting requirements including design specifications, permit lead times, points of contact, and special requirements
- Understand and track the requirements for construction inspection and permit close out
- Work with the engineering team to ensure compliance with permit drawing requirements of the jurisdiction
- Research and analyze county assessor records, survey maps, tract/parcel maps, appraisals, right of way maps, plats, and construction maps
- Provide customer-facing communications, including status updates
- Communicate action items to internal stakeholders
- Prioritize permit submittals based upon agency review/lead times and customer schedules
- Maintain orderly records of all documents
- 1-3 years relevant permit experience required
- High school diploma or GED required
- AEC industry experience advantageous but not required
- Deltek Vantage Point or Vision experience advantageous but not required
- Strong analysis, decision making and problem‑solving skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal)
- Ability to work as part of a team and interact effectively with others
- Excellent organization skills with the ability to balance multiple tasks under time constraints
- Proficient with Microsoft Office
- Ability to work with different personalities and communication styles
- Ability to ask clarifying questions and probe until question is answered and/or use provided information/requirement to work on client request
$30 - $34.57 an hour
