Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing – Itinerant DHH
Location: St. Charles, IL
Position Type: Full-time, School-Based
Dates: 2026–2027 School Year
Schedule: 37.5 hours/week, Monday–Friday
Hours: 8:00 AM – 3:30 PM
We are seeking a Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing for a full-time itinerant position in the St. Charles, IL area for the 2026–2027 school year
. This role will support students across multiple school sites and provide direct DHH services based on each student’s IEP needs.
The DHH teacher will work with a caseload of approximately 14–15 students across 7 schools
, serving students from K–12
. Service minutes may vary by student, ranging from consultative support to approximately 150 minutes per week
.
- Must hold a PEL with a Teacher of Deaf and Hard of Hearing endorsement.
- Provide direct and consultative DHH services to students across multiple school buildings.
- Support students with hearing‑related educational needs according to their IEPs.
- Travel between assigned school sites within the district.
- Collaborate with classroom teachers, special education staff, related service providers, families, and school leadership.
- Monitor student progress and maintain accurate documentation.
- Participate in IEP meetings and provide input on student accommodations, services, and supports.
- Help ensure students have access to instruction, communication, and classroom participation.
- Support students’ academic, social‑emotional, and communication needs across K–12 settings.
The ideal candidate is organized, flexible, and comfortable working in an itinerant role across multiple schools. They should be confident supporting students with varying service needs and able to collaborate with school teams to make sure every student has access, support, and room to grow.
