Required:
Professional Educator License (registered in DuPage County) with endorsement for H.S. in the subject identified.
- Instruct students in Spanish 2 (South), Spanish for Heritage Speakers, EL Coordinator, EL Study Methods.
- Teach 5 classes + prep + resource.
- Plan and deliver lessons: supplement lesson plans utilizing interactive technology as appropriate.
- Grade assignments and maintain attendance.
- Supervise students and ensure safety during classroom hours.
- Meet with Department Chair regularly and seek mentoring from other departmental staff.
- Maintain ethical and professional demeanor, consistent with district policies.
- Participate in parent‑teacher conferences and/or school‑sponsored professional development as needed.
- Assist in upholding and enforcing school rules, administrative regulations and Board policy.
- Maintain student confidentiality.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
- Professional educator’s license in the subject area identified.
- Knowledge of best practices supporting all students’ ability to learn.
- Strong communication skills.
- Honors or AP experience preferred.
- Bilingual and EL endorsed.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret documents such as correspondence, surveys, and electronic media.
- Ability to write professional communications.
- Effective oral presentation skills and ability to respond to questions.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff and community members.
- Clear and concise written and oral communication.
- Basic mathematics and problem‑solving skills.
- Maintain current job skills, particularly in technology‑related activities.
- Perform essential duties with an awareness of school district requirements and policies.
- Required to sit, talk, hear, stand, walk, operate machines, reach, and repeat motions such as typing.
- Close vision required; ability to adjust focus and withstand long‑term use of VDT.
- May occasionally lift up to 30 pounds.
- Work environment noise usually moderate; pace considered fast.
- Work conducted at one job site, with occasional travel to meetings, conferences, or workshops.
