Estimator, Engineering, Manufacturing Engineer

The Estimator will be responsible for estimating projects and assisting the sales team with managing various customer accounts. The estimator will work with engineering, vendors, and production staff to ensure all costs are covered and accurate. When required, the estimator will serve as the main point of contact for customers, vendors, and Oldcastle staff to ensure that products are constructed to the required designs and specifications.

• Estimate multiple projects concurrently and deliver proposals to the sales staff before the bid date.
• Contact vendors for pricing on needed items, review vendor quotes, and verify that items meet required designs and specifications.
• Review sales proposals with sales staff to ensure proper estimating and project requirements, time frames, and subcontracting opportunities.
• Hold a turnover/kick‑off meeting with the sales team at the point of sale to confirm scope, review the estimate, confirm values for all items, and begin project scheduling.
• Assist with applicable change‑order proposals in a timely manner, whether requested by the owner/client/architect or generated by Oldcastle.
• Monitor the progress and status of each assigned project as it moves through the process, proactively solve problems, offer technical advice, and assist other staff to expedite projects and remove obstacles that might delay schedules.
• Support inside sales, production reporting, and invoicing as required.

• Experience in estimating or project management, preferably within the construction or precast concrete industry.
• Demonstrated ability to manage several large to small, complex bids/projects simultaneously.
• Intermediate to advanced knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
• Associate’s degree or equivalent work experience required; civil engineering preferred.
• Ability to review and work from production schematics and engineering drawings.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
