Project Lead, Engineering, Operations Manager

Job Summary

The Project Lead is the "voice of the customer" and responsible for the customer experience from estimate to on‑site delivery. The role ensures 100% customer satisfaction on all sales orders, coordinates with engineering, production, and transportation, and monitors project costs, compliance, and schedules.

• This position will be located at our plant in Lombard, IL or Kenosha, WI.

• Act as the primary voice of the customer within OI facilities.
• Manage multiple sales orders concurrently.
• After sales order assignment, hold a Turnover/Kick‑Off meeting to confirm scope, estimate values, and schedule and align with the customer ship date in AX.
• Serve as the main point of contact for customers from order assignment through on‑site delivery, ensuring updates on production schedules.
• Provide direction and oversight to engineering, production planning, transportation, procurement, and accounting teams.
• Prepare and submit timely change order proposals.
• Monitor progress, proactively problem‑solve, offer technical advice, and remove obstacles to keep projects on schedule.
• Champion continuous improvement of processes and systems.
• Coordinate site visits and resolve issues from sale to completion, including change orders, schedule adjustments, and special purchase requisitions.
• Manage required submittals and approvals with customers.
• Communicate initial delivery needs with Transportation and follow up as required.
• Work with other project managers and the plant manager to minimize scheduling conflicts.
• Estimate projects and secure sales quotes by bid dates.
• Contact vendors for pricing when needed.
• Collaborate cross‑functionally with sales, inside sales, operations, and management.

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience;
  Civil Engineering preferred.
• 3+ years of project management experience.
• Demonstrated ability to manage several large to small, complex projects simultaneously.
• Intermediate to advanced MS Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Ability to review and work from production schematics and engineering drawings.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Experience with in the construction or precast concrete industry.
