Responsibilities
- Provide engineering and consulting services for a broad array of projects and clients.
- Perform and/or lead field investigations, engineering analysis, calculations, and recommendations.
- Design and develop plans and specifications.
- Observe and inspect construction for compliance with plans and specifications.
- Write, prepare, and review related engineering reports.
- Prepare proposals and cost estimates; track and evaluate project progress and budgets; recommend changes.
- Research and resolve design and construction problems.
- Assign, review, and evaluate laboratory or field data for inclusion in reports.
- Follow safety rules, guidelines, and standards; participate in pre-task planning; report safety issues to management.
- Lead continuous quality monitoring and improvement and promote quality standards and practices.
- Manage detailed phases of moderately sized and complex projects.
- Independently perform varied projects or selected segments of larger projects.
- Plan, schedule, conduct, and coordinate detailed phases of assigned project work.
- Work with senior-level project managers on more complex and larger projects.
- Make design, engineering, and construction recommendations, adaptations, and modifications.
- Perform quality-control reviews of proposals written by others.
- Serve as a technical adviser to junior-level project team members.
- Interact directly with clients and project teams regarding scope, progress, findings, and recommendations.
- Participate in marketing, sales, and business development.
- Supervise graduate, field, and project engineering staff.
- Work under the supervision of a Terracon Authorized Project Reviewer.
- Begin the documented mentoring and application process for Terracon Authorized Project Reviewer certification.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
- Minimum 5-8 years’ experience.
- A valid driver’s license with acceptable violation history may be required.
- Ability to apply sound engineering principles and communicate complex engineering issues and concepts to technical and non-technical clients and project teams.
- Ability to work under the supervision of a Terracon Authorized Project Reviewer.
- Begin the documented mentoring and application process for Terracon Authorized Project Reviewer certification.
Demonstrates expertise in engineering analysis, project management, and client interaction, with a focus on quality control and compliance. Capable of leading field investigations and providing technical guidance while mentoring junior staff.
