As a residential Maintenance Technician, you are responsible for ongoing facility maintenance and repairs to keep the company’s multifamily property operating and appearing at its best.
The HowYou will use your three-plus years of experience in property maintenance (either in a residential or hospitality setting) to address work orders before issues escalate into major problems. You’ve done light carpentry, are experienced with minor electrical or plumbing repairs, and aren’t afraid to work on HVAC systems.
You want to positively impact people’s lives by proactively addressing routine maintenance and the general cleanliness of the property, including resident amenities such as the pool and clubhouse.
Your friendly and efficient approach is perfect when engaging with residents in their units and about the property. You are committed to creating a safe working environment for the team and a safe living environment for our residents with a safety‑first approach to everything you do.
The Details- Work full‑time Monday through Friday; occasional on‑call hours as set by the Property Management team.
- Maintain your own tool kit; occasionally use a company‑owned or personal vehicle to move around the property or pick up supplies off‑site. Must have a valid driver’s license.
- Benefits include medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance. Company auto‑enrollment in its 401(k) plan after 60 days. New employees accrue 40 vacation hours in the first year and earn paid sick leave per state requirements. Eligible employees also receive holiday pay for six holidays each year.
- Treat all current and future residents with the highest level of concern and care; demonstrate integrity, honesty, and ethics.
- Able and willing to maintain regular attendance and punctuality.
- Demonstrated attention to detail to ensure jobs are completed in an exemplary manner and hazards or warning signs are not overlooked.
- Familiarity with a variety of tools and materials needed to maintain residential buildings.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Treat everyone with respect and dignity, accept responsibility, take ownership of tasks, follow through on commitments, take initiative, and maintain confidentiality.
- Excellent organizational skills and strong time‑management; proven ability to meet goals and deadlines.
- Ability to function well in a fast‑paced, high‑volume environment.
- Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- A high school diploma or GED is required, and a minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience, preferably in property management or hospitality.
- Prior experience in general building maintenance or painting in a commercial residential environment preferred.
- Prior experience in maintaining and repairing HVAC systems.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Must have own tools.
- Valid driver’s license to operate company‑owned vehicles or utilize own vehicle for work.
- Expected work hours:
Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM, plus scheduled on‑call hours and occasional weekends. - Travel:
Occasionally may need to drive a company‑owned or personal vehicle for business. - Work environment and physical demands:
- Able to frequently lift or move items weighing up to 25 pounds; occasionally up to 50 pounds.
- Able to use hands to manipulate tools and objects or control equipment; adequate vision; stamina and dexterity.
- Able to move about the property to perform assigned tasks and responsibilities, including standing for extended periods, walking, climbing stairs and ladders, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling in various weather conditions and climates.
