Position Summary
The Fire Mitigation / Contents Project Manager is responsible for overseeing fire loss mitigation and contents restoration projects from initial response through completion. This role manages field teams, coordinates with insurance adjusters and clients, ensures accurate documentation, and drives projects to completion on time and within scope.
The ideal candidate brings strong leadership, restoration knowledge, customer service skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects in fast-paced, emergency-driven environments.
Key Responsibilities
Project Management & Oversight
- Manage fire mitigation and contents restoration projects from start to finish
- Conduct site inspections and develop project scopes
- Coordinate labor, equipment, vendors, and subcontractors
- Ensure projects stay on schedule, within scope, and aligned with company standards
- Oversee emergency response and fire loss mitigation activities
- Ensure proper mitigation of smoke, soot, odor, and debris
- Verify work is completed per IICRC standards and industry best practices
- Supervise pack-outs, inventories, cleaning, storage, and pack-backs
- Ensure accurate documentation and tracking of all contents
- Resolve contents-related issues with customers and adjusters
- Prepare and review estimates, documentation, photos, and reports
- Communicate regularly with insurance adjusters and carriers
- Ensure compliance with insurance and company documentation requirements
- Serve as the primary point of contact for customers throughout the project
- Communicate professionally and empathetically during stressful situations
- Coordinate with property managers, contractors, and internal teams
- Lead, train, and support mitigation and contents technicians
- Ensure safety protocols and PPE compliance
- Provide coaching, performance feedback, and accountability
- Enforce OSHA, IICRC, and company safety standards
- Maintain clean, organized, and compliant job sites
Required
- 3+ years of experience in fire mitigation, contents restoration, or disaster restoration
- Prior experience leading projects or supervising crews
- Strong understanding of fire, smoke, and contents restoration processes
- Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel to job sites
- Ability to manage after-hours, emergency, and on-call work
- IICRC Certifications (FSRT, OCT, WRT)
- Experience with insurance claims and estimating platforms (Xactimate preferred)
- Restoration or construction management background
- Bilingual (Spanish/English) a plus
