Light Duty Technician
Transdev in Phoenix, AZ is seeking an experienced Light Duty Technician to bolster our team. This position requires the level of knowledge and skills necessary to diagnose and repair commercial vehicles and equipment. The individual must have the ability to effectively work and communicate with employees and customers. Requirements include daily safety inspections, minimal reworks, and maintaining production standards with a focus on timeliness and quality of repairs.
As a Light Duty Technician, you'll play a crucial role in ensuring the safety, efficiency, and longevity of our assets.
- Competitive compensation package of minimum $35.00 – maximum $42.00 per hour
- Vacation: minimum of two (2) weeks
- Sick days: 5 days
- Holidays: 12 days; 8 standard and 4 floating

- Perform preventative maintenance (PMs), safety inspections, and annual maintenance inspections.
- Diagnose and perform all vehicle and equipment repair phases, including brakes, suspensions, engines, drive trains, transmissions, and other repairs.
- Ensure work orders are completed accurately.
- Assist with road calls and emergency services as necessary.
- Valid driver’s license required.
- At least 3 years of automotive or diesel maintenance & repair employment experience, or a combination of technical school education and experience.
- Mechanic’s toolset.
- ASE certifications are preferred. Willing to participate in the company ASE certification program (company training, testing, and bonuses provided).
- Subject to DOT drug testing. DOT Regulation 49 CFR Part 40 does not authorize the use of Schedule I drugs, including marijuana, for any reason.
- Work outside in varying temperature, weather, and humidity conditions—100% of the job is performed outside, often alone and in remote locations.
- Sit for extended periods (up to 6–8 hours per day); frequently walk for long distances and on possible sloped ground or slippery and uneven surfaces.
- Push and pull objects, occasionally throughout the workday; lift material weighing up to 50 lbs. with or without assistance; occasionally bend, kneel, or crouch to retrieve or adjust equipment stored at ground level.
- Withstand heavy traffic areas while performing duties; tolerate exposure to considerable amounts of dust, vehicle fumes, and noise.
