The Village of Lombard is offering a position working up to 40 hours per week for Seasonal Public Works employee. Seasonal Public Works personnel perform a variety of duties in order to provide responsive, courteous, and efficient service to village personnel and the general public.

The primary duties include but are not limited to:

• Assists with the preparation and maintenance of all Village flower gardens and all other landscaped areas at Village maintained sites.
• Assists with necessary watering, trimming and general care of all Village landscapes.
• Assists with remedial building maintenance in various public facilities, including but not limited to:
• Various interior and exterior painting, staining, etc.
• Mopping, sweeping and general custodial duties as needed.
• Aesthetic maintenance of division vehicles.
• General maintenance of downtown Lombard facilities.
• Painting and general maintenance of water plant assets.
• Assists with grounds work restoration relating to infrastructure construction and/or repairs, including but not limited to:
• Digging, shoveling and/or other means of ground excavation.
• Soil preparation, seeding and general re-landscaping procedures following excavation digs.
• Painting fences, fire hydrants, etc. as part of site restoration.
• Assists in general construction operations, including but not limited to:

These positions require excellent communication and organizational skills. Candidates must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with the ability to multitask. Qualified candidates must be at least 18 years of age before they can begin working and must possess a valid driver’s license. The hours for the positions are 7:30 am – 3:30 pm, Monday – Friday, with a flexible schedule.

The starting hourly rate is $16.00 per hour.
