THE ROLE
Perform general maintenance of electrical, plumbing, HVAC systems and building controls, corrective and preventative maintenance of equipment, painting and wall patching, tile installation, and snow removal. Use a variety of methods, tools, and equipment as trained and directed by GSF. Change work as directed by supervisors or managers to comply with customer requests or deal with unforeseen circumstances. Tasks and individual assignments are specific to each location.
SCHEDULEFull-Time Monday through Friday 6am to 2:30pm
REQUIREMENTSESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- General Electric
- Repairing and replacing light fixture ballasts, damaged outlets, switches, and other electrical fixtures.
- Repairing and replacing faucet components, flush valves, drinking fountains, urinals, commodes and lavatories.
- Rodding and unclogging floor drains and sink traps.
- HVAC Systems (air supply units, roof top units, unit ventilators, VAV systems, etc.)
- Operations include lubrication, changing filters and belts, cleaning coils, and servicing exhaust fans.
- Reading and understanding the Building Automation System (BAS), printing reports, and operating all the equipment controlled by the BAS.
- Equipment Corrective and Preventive Maintenance
- Repairing custodial equipment, student lockers, pencil sharpeners, interior finishes, door frames and hardware, patching and repairing building roofs.
- Painting and wall patching
- Furniture assembly
- Flooring repair
- Installing floor tiles and carpet tiles
- Snow removal including the use of snowplows, snow blowers, snow shovels and snow melt equipment.
- General Labor
- Support facility set ups and tear downs.
- Understand SDS sheets.
- Complete assigned Work Orders.
- Other
- Inspect electrical equipment and Personal Protective Equipment prior to each use for safe operation.
- Wear Personal Protective Equipment required for safe completion of job tasks.
- Follow and abide by all policies and procedures as established.
- Be prompt and present for assigned shift.
- Monitor building safety and security by locking doors after completing duties.
- Return all materials and equipment used to their proper storing place.
- Completes other duties as assigned.
- Ability to comprehend all documents (policies, procedure and safety manuals, etc.).
- Ability to pay close attention to detail.
- Ability to stand/be stationary and walk/be mobile for the duration of the shift.
- Ability to bend, crouch, or kneel as necessary to perform duties.
- Ability to reach above shoulder height (behind, in front, side left;/right with both arms) to perform maintenance duties.
- Ability to bend forward at head and/or waist.
- Ability to lift/carry/transport between 5 - 50 lbs. a distance of no less than 50 feet unassisted.
- Ability to push/pull 50 lbs. with outstretched arms.
- Ability to grasp/grip with wrist/fingers.
- Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment as directed.
- Ability to perform difficult physical labor in variable weather conditions such as hot, cold, rain, snow, wind, etc.
- Ability to climb steps, stools or ladders.
- Ability to work on tall ladders, lifts, and scaffolds.
- Ability to move between multiple locations by vehicle and meet company vehicle driver / insurance requirements.
- Ability to follow verbal and/or written instructions.
- Ability to work with or without supervision, alone or with other service operators and to produce/perform desired outcomes.
- Ability to come to work regularly and promptly for entire assigned shift.
An employee in this position works indoors and outdoors and will be required to transport tools and perform HVAC work, Electrical Work, Plumbing Work, Snow Removal or other tasks. The employee will have possible exposure to chemicals…
