Vineyard Operations Supervisor – Harvest Season

Lompoc, CA | 6‑Month Contract

We are seeking an experienced Vineyard Operations Supervisor to lead and support large‑scale grape harvesting operations during an active harvest season. This is a high‑impact leadership role within a dynamic agricultural environment, ideal for someone who thrives in fast‑paced, people‑driven operations.

About the Role

As a key leader in vineyard operations, you will oversee daily harvest activities, manage large field teams, and ensure productivity, safety, and compliance standards are met. You’ll work closely with operations leadership to optimize labor, resources, and performance throughout the harvest cycle.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and manage up to 80 employees in daily vineyard and harvest operations
  • Lead harvesting activities to meet productivity, quality, and efficiency goals
  • Develop daily work plans and optimize labor and resource allocation
  • Ensure compliance with EH&S, HR, and regulatory standards
  • Support equipment operations, including forklift usage and tracking systems
  • Monitor operations, analyze data, and support informed decision‑making
  • Foster a culture of safety, respect, accountability, and continuous improvement
  • Assist with recruiting, training, and performance management
  • Build strong partnerships with internal teams and external labor providers
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bilingual Spanish/English – required
  • Degree in Agriculture, Management, or related field preferred
  • Strong background in agricultural and vineyard operations
Schedule & Work Environment
  • 5–6 days per week
  • Shifts may include:
  • Early mornings starting as early as 6:00 AM
  • Evening/Night shifts: 8:00 PM – 12:00 AM
  • Shift length:
    Up to 10 hours per day
  • Work performed in both outdoor and indoor agricultural settings
