Pacific Legends is seeking an experienced Polynesian Dance Instructor to join our small but growing dance organization in Lompoc, California.
This is a in-person, part-time position primarily scheduled on Friday afternoons
, with the possibility of occasionally substituting for Saturday morning classes. Because we are a smaller organization, this role currently includes a limited number of weekly teaching hours.
The Polynesian Dance Instructor is a full-time, on-site role based in Lompoc, CA. This role involves planning and leading Polynesian dance classes for various age groups and skill levels, focusing on technique, cultural context, and performance readiness. The instructor will choreograph routines for classes, showcases, and community events, and provide constructive feedback to help dancers grow in confidence and ability. Day-to-day responsibilities include preparing lesson plans, selecting appropriate music, maintaining a safe and inclusive studio environment, and coordinating rehearsals.
The instructor will also support community performances, assist with event preparation, and collaborate with leadership to align classes and programming with the organization’s cultural and educational goals.
- Teach engaging and age-appropriate Polynesian dance classes
- Provide clear instruction, corrections, and encouragement to dancers
- Help create a positive, respectful, and culturally conscious class environment
- Follow Pacific Legends’ curriculum, policies, and performance expectations
- Substitute for Saturday morning classes when available
- Previous Polynesian dance training and experience required
- Teaching or leadership experience preferred
- Dependable, professional, patient, and comfortable working with youth
- Must be able to work in person in Lompoc, California
- Relocation assistance is not available
Pay: $20 per hour
