Working for the Program Manager, the engineering manager is responsible for the planning and execution of engineering tasks associated with daily operations as well as larger design/build projects related to facility infrastructure upgrades. You will oversee the continual review and improvement of the maintenance program, by balancing a mix of Preventative, Predictive, and Responsive Maintenance strategies to maximize operational efficiency and minimize equipment downtime.

  • Implement and maintain Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) Program
  • Establish strategies to increase reliability and reduce operational costs
  • Direct Facility and Equipment Maintenance and Repair Program
  • Work with technicians and craftsmen to improve equipment reliability
  • Identify, coordinate and manage maintenance processes
  • Contribute to 12kV and 480V electrical Lock-Out-Tag-Out plans
  • Contribute to Job Hazard Analysis forms
  • Oversee inspection, testing, certification, non‑destructive inspection (NDI), predictive testing and inspection (PTI)
  • Plans and directs all aspects of engineering activities within the organization
  • Ensures all engineering projects, initiatives, and processes are in conformance with organization's established policies and objectives
  • Plans and oversees layout of equipment, office, and facilities
  • Conducts studies in operations to maximize work flow and spatial utilization
  • Responsible for designing and implementing improved process or operational policies
  • Recommends changes to products or services to fulfill customer needs
  • Manages and/or oversees the planning, estimating, and construction management department; ensures bids are accurate and estimates quantities of material to purchase; manages multiple projects simultaneously in a team environment with direct subordinates and ensures projects are designed and built in accordance with all applicable military, industrial, and governmental regulatory requirements, standards, and specifications.
  • Responsible for the training and staffing of estimating department
  • Gathers and analyzes information to prepare reports on the progress of projects
  • Ensures that assignment and scheduling of work follows company policy
  • Evaluates procedures and recommends changes to improve the efficiency of planning and scheduling of projects
  • Responsible for the coordination and completion of projects
  • Oversees all aspects of projects
  • Sets deadlines, assigns responsibilities, and monitors and summarizes progress of project
  • Prepares reports for upper management regarding status of project
  • Technical familiarity with electrical power transmission, distribution, generation, and analyses related to this field
  • Technical familiarity with HVAC systems and principals
  • Technical familiarity with fire alarm and suppression systems
Education, Training, Skills and Experience Requirements
  • B.S. Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Civil, Construction, or closely related field)
  • Root Cause Failure Analysis experience (RCFA)
  • Failure Mode and Effect Analysis experience (FMEA)
  • Life cycle costs analysis experience
  • Experience with facility infrastructure components (HVAC, Electrical, Mechanical, Plumbing)
  • 5 years management experience, 10 years of experience in the field or in a related area.
  • Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures.
  • Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
  • Performs a variety of complicated tasks.
  • Leads and directs the work of others.
  • A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected
  • Strong analytical and hands‑on skills
  • AutoCAD experience
  • Programming familiarity and experience
Other Requirements
  • Must be a U.S. citizen and possess a valid driver’s license
  • Must possess or be able to obtain a Secret Security Clearance
  • Must be able to climb, crawl and lift 50 pounds
  • Good communications skills (written and verbal)
  • Must successfully complete Air Force computer‑based training modules and sign user agreements
