Electronic Technicians

PGS Worldwide is seeking Electronic Technicians in Vandenberg Space Force Base, CA for contract-to-hire roles supporting a leading aerospace & defense company. The Electronic Technicians will support Integration and Test activities for interceptor and space launch vehicle systems. These onsite roles require hands-on electronics, avionics, assembly, inspection, testing, troubleshooting, technical documentation, and electronic test equipment experience.

Required Skills
  • High school diploma or GED with 2+ years of experience in electronics, avionics, or a related field.
  • Higher-level openings may require 4+ years of related electronics, avionics, or technical experience.
  • Completion of a formal electronics training program or associate degree in Electronics, Electrical Technology, or a related field may also be considered.
  • U.S. citizenship required.
  • Ability to read and follow work instructions.
  • Ability to read and interpret electronic schematics, wiring diagrams, technical drawings, and defined plans.
  • Hands-on experience assembling, testing, inspecting, troubleshooting, or repairing electronic systems or subassemblies.
  • Experience using electronic test equipment such as digital multimeters, oscilloscopes, power supplies, signal generators, VOMs, DVMs, or similar diagnostic equipment.
  • Basic soldering and rework skills, including through-hole and/or surface mount work.
  • Familiarity with PCB assemblies, harnesses, and electronic components.
  • Basic computer skills, including email, office applications, data entry, test systems, databases, electronic travelers, or work instructions.
  • Ability to use hand tools and small power tools.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy.
  • Ability to follow detailed written and verbal instructions.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Ability to stand, sit, bend, and lift moderate weights, typically around 25–35 lbs.
  • Ability to work onsite at Vandenberg Space Force Base, CA.
Preferred Skills
  • Ability to read drawings and wiring diagrams.
  • Electrostatic Discharge protection experience.
  • Equipment troubleshooting experience.
  • Experience in a production, lab, depot, field service, development, engineering, or test equipment environment.
  • Experience with analog, digital, video, or logic systems.
  • Experience performing operational tests and fault isolation.
  • Experience diagnosing malfunctions down to the component level.
  • Ability to obtain a security clearance if the role is extended or converted.
  • Willingness to work overtime, shifts, or weekends as required by production schedules.
What You'll Do
  • Support development engineering activities including design, test, checkout, fabrication, modification, and assembly of electronic and electromechanical systems.
  • Perform testing and troubleshooting on interceptor and space launch vehicle systems.
  • Work from schematics, diagrams, written instructions, verbal instructions, layouts, and defined plans.
  • Perform routine testing, checkout, troubleshooting, prototype building, environmental testing, and developmental engineering support tasks.
  • Conduct operational tests and fault isolation on development systems and equipment.
  • Verify conformance with design specifications.
  • Diagnose and isolate malfunctions down to the component level.
  • Conduct defined engineering tests and collect assigned data.
  • Use routine development and diagnostic equipment, including oscilloscopes, VOMs, DVMs, signal generators, and similar test equipment.
  • Support electronics, electromechanical systems, prototype models, specialized test equipment, and related hardware.
Work Schedule / Shift
  • 9x80 A schedule.
  • Full-time, 40 hours per week.
  • Onsite role.
  • Overtime, shift work, or weekend work may be required by production schedules.
Pay
  • $71.73–$94.65/hour, depending on experience and level.
