This engineering position is responsible for developing Mechanical Ground Support Equipment designs for our Launch complexes at Cape Canaveral and Vandenberg Space Force Bases.

Key responsibilities include:

• Create models and produce/release drawings used for fabrication.
• Designs shall be optimized for manufacturing, producibility, usability, and safety.
• Work with ULA subcontract administration and manufacturers through fabrication, test and acceptance.
• Support first use of hardware to ensure proper installation and processing.
• Must be available for periodic travel to the other ULA sites.

Minimum of 2 years of related work experience

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or related technical field from an accredited college or university
• Proficient with CAD software, preferably NX
• Understanding of drawing standards and GD&T
• Experienced contributor that can work in a fast-paced environment
• Work experience on projects in which integration between different engineering disciplines occurred (e.g. structural, electrical, test, analysis)
• Ability to work under general supervision to determine and develop solutions to a variety of engineering problems
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
• Must be available for periodic travel to the other ULA sites or vendors.
• Must possess a valid driver's license to drive between work locations on a military base where public transportation is not available

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from an accredited college or university
• Familiarity with mechanical ground systems and strength analysis
• Experience with welded steel and aluminum structures
• Familiarity with machine shop practices
• Teamcenter, MSOffice, and MS Project experience
• Proficiency with drawing standards and GD&T
