Work ScheduleMonday–Friday, fully on‑site. Remote or hybrid work options are not available. Schedules are dependent upon operational needs and are subject to change.
Salary- Administrative Analyst: $90,279.54 – $ annually
- Senior Administrative Analyst: $96,313.10 – $ annually
(The position may be filled at either the Administrative Analyst or Senior Administrative Analyst level. Placement at the higher level is not guaranteed and will be determined based on the candidate’s background and departmental needs.)
Job PurposeThe Administrative Analyst performs a variety of professional administrative work and assists the department head in planning, organizing, directing, and coordinating work related to city functions, plans, programs, systems, and services. The Senior Administrative Analyst performs highly responsible administrative, budgetary, organizational, and operational support duties for either the city manager’s office or an assigned department.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct surveys and studies and make recommendations to the department head
- Gather, organize, and analyze information and develop and recommend solutions
- Respond to surveys from other governmental and private agencies
- Prepare and present written and oral reports
- Process and respond to complaints and inquiries
- Represent or participate with the department head in meetings with city, governmental, community, and business representatives
- Prepare and verify informational brochures
- Prepare and administer division or department budget (as assigned)
- Review and evaluate departmental reports, requests, goals, and objectives; attend seminars, classes or courses related to public administration
- Analyze and interpret federal and state legislation and make recommendations for implementation of programs
- Administer programs resulting from legislative action
- Evaluate department procedures, policies, programs and services and make recommendations for improvement or elimination
- Make statistical computations and analyze results
- Review, prepare and administer grants and contracts
- Participate in negotiations for contracts and agreements
- Read and review articles, periodicals and other publications related to public agency operation
- Supervise subordinates and provide training as needed (if applicable)
- Plan, coordinate, schedule, direct, and follow up on special projects as assigned
- Serve as staff support to commissions
- Perform related work as required
- Exercise a higher level of responsibility for specialized programs, performance of management functions, and independence of action
- Provide recommendations having significant organizational impact for consideration by staff and management
- Direct, train, and review the work of technical or professional staff and/or consultants
- Receive direction from and be responsible to the city manager or assigned department head for policy and day‑to‑day operations
