Pharmacist, Healthcare

Reporting to the Director of Pharmacy Services, the Pharmacist assists in supervising all stages of medication accountability and directs patient pharmacotherapy across the acute care setting. This role serves as a clinical expert resource to medical and allied health staff and supports Pharmacy Services operations for the District. The ideal candidate works well under pressure, meets deadlines, and fosters positive, professional relationships with patients, families, and colleagues.

• Administer, direct, and coordinate clinical pharmacy services in the acute hospital
• Evaluate prescriber orders and oversee preparation, delivery, and administration of medications
• Serve as a clinical resource to physicians, nursing, and allied health staff
• Provide consultation services for the Comprehensive Care Center
• Deliver training, in‑services, and guidance to pharmacy and clinical staff
• Assist with pharmacy operations, including ordering, receiving, storage, and medication accountability
• Support leadership of pharmacy personnel and departmental workflow
• Participate in performance improvement and continuous quality initiatives
• Maintain professional competency and regulatory compliance
• Support District Mission and Values, including LVMC’s Commitment to Care and C‑I‑CARE principles

• Education:
  
  Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm
  
  D) from an accredited School of Pharmacy (or BSPharm with appropriate experience)
• Experience:
  
  Acute care pharmacy experience (or equivalent) with demonstrated clinical competence

• Comprehensive knowledge of medication therapy across all age groups
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong problem‑solving and organizational skills
• Sound judgment, initiative, professionalism, and emotional stability
