Communication Systems Engineer Professional
Amentum is seeking a Communications Systems Engineer Professional to support the Space Force Range Contract (SFRC)
Key Responsibilities:
- Administer Range Interface Units (RIUs) software and configurations
- Recommend changes to improve systems/system configurations and determine hardware or software requirements related to such changes
- Configure and test serial data circuits including: T1, DS1, DS3, RS232, RS530 and 422 signals
- Work with GPS receivers, Time Generators and NTP servers
- Support Network Administrators with IPv6 protocols, Data, and Telemetry Transports
- Plan, coordinate, and implement system security measures to protect data, software, and hardware
- Plan, coordinate, and execute continuous monitoring to maintain system Authorization to Operate (ATO)
- Support leadership in estimating, reporting, and planning network administration tasks
- Participate in Risk Management Boards (RMB) and identify network risks
- Adhere to established policies and procedures pertaining to job site safety, security, and timekeeping
- Perform other tasks as assigned
Minimum Qualifications :
- Bachelor's degree in technology related Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) field
- 3+ years of Communication Systems and Network Engineering experience
- Experience in voice/data/analog and digital video systems configuration, operation and maintenance
- Must have current DOD 8140 certification (CCNA-Security, CySA+, or Security+), or be able to obtain within six (6) months of hire
- Experience with test equipment such as FIREBERD Bit Error Rate Testers, OTDR, Oscilloscopes, Signal Analyzers and DB loss Fiber Meters
- Hands-on Experience with network hardware (e.g. Cisco, Palo Alto, Juniper, Cornet, Net Acquire, RT Logic, IPTec)
- Experience responding to Cybersecurity incidents and solving technical problems
- The flexibility to work non-duty hours to support specific project and mission requirements
- Experience with communications systems administration and maintenance on Vandenberg Space Force Base or other military installations.
- Experience with or knowledge of serial data communications, fiber optics, multiplexing, data switching, digital voice systems and Time Division Multiplexing (TDM) technologies
- Experience with IPv6 solutions
- Experience working with circuit over packet, encrypted data streams, and IPv6 hardware
- Experience with relevant industry software products like MS Office, MS Project, MS SharePoint, etc
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs
- Ability to support occasional travel
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Government Clearance.

U.S. Citizenship is required to obtain a Secret Clearance. - Valid U.S. Driver's License
Salary and Other Compensation:
The annual starting salary for this position is between $110,000–$125,000 annually. Factors which may affect starting pay within this range include geography/market, skills, education, experience, and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
