Job SummaryThe MRO Inventory Clerk is responsible for organizing, tracking, and procuring critical spare parts, tools, janitorial goods, and safety equipment. This role bridges maintenance, production, and procurement to ensure materials are available at the lowest practical cost. The ideal candidate maintains meticulous records, coordinates with external vendors, and uses inventory software."
Key Responsibilities- Stock management:
Perform routine physical inventory audits and cycle counts to reconcile physical stock with database records. - Order fulfillment:
Place purchase orders for depleted materials and track deliveries to prevent stockouts of critical parts. - Receiving inspections:
Unpack incoming shipments, verify contents against purchase orders, and inspect items for quality or damage. - System upkeep:
Update CMMS and/or SAP with accurate inventory data. - Vendor coordination:
Request pricing quotes, expedite delayed parts, and coordinate product returns with suppliers. - Storeroom organization:
Maintain a clean, organized tool crib and warehouse area using FIFO or 5S standards. - Technical support:
Assist maintenance technicians in identifying, locating, and kitting replacement parts for active work orders.
- Education:
High school diploma or GED required; associate degree in logistics or supply chain management is a plus. - Experience:
1–2 years in inventory control, warehousing, or supporting a maintenance department. - Technical proficiency:
Experience with SAP and CMMS. - Hardware familiarity:
Proficient with barcode scanners, digital logging tools, and basic Google Sheets. - Physical Ability:
Lift up to 50 pounds, stand/walk for extended periods, and move across plant locations as needed. - Working Environment:
Industrial warehouse setting. - PPE:
Hard hat, high-visibility vest, hearing protection, safety glasses, respirator, and safety boots as required. - Key traits:
Detail-oriented, strong problem-solving, and clear verbal communication. - Credentials:
Active MSHA Part 48 certification maintained as part of role.
Note:
This position is full time and permanent. Hourly range: $25.00 – $32.00. The shift is 3:00pm – 11:30pm, Monday to Friday, with overtime on weekends during scheduled maintenance outages.
