Temporary/Casual Secretarial/Clerical Support Staff (THRs)
The Waterloo Region District School Board is accepting applications for temporary/casual secretarial and clerical support staff (THRs). These supply assignments may be located at any of the schools in our region and at the Education Centre and require flexible availability.
Wage Rate: $21.68 per hour.
Responsibilities- Perform general secretarial functions in a school setting.
- Use Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and GSuite in a Windows environment.
- Provide customer service to staff, parents, and visitors.
- Assist with reception, switchboard, library, or payroll/accounting duties as assigned.
- Participate in secretarial skills testing and interview process.
- Secondary School Graduation Diploma or equivalent.
- 2–5 years of recent relevant working experience in an office environment or customer service.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and GSuite.
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
- Willingness to learn Board specific programs such as Aspen.
- Availability to accept casual assignments during the day with short notice.
- Preference will be given to applicants with prior secretarial experience in an educational setting.
- Experience with customer service, library reception/switchboard, or accounts payable/receivable/payroll is an asset.
- Valid Vulnerable Sector Criminal Reference Check to attend THR Orientation.
