As a Technical Writer for Individual Insurance, you will play a critical role in bringing Equitable’s client‑centric vision to life by transforming our most complex insurance information into content that is clear, simple, and engaging. Working as a key member of the Client Communications team, you will rewrite and maintain technical client documentation—including contracts, statements, illustration outputs, and other policy wording—to ensure it is accessible, accurate, and easy for clients to understand.

You combine strong communication skills with deep critical thinking, allowing you to translate intricate concepts into relatable language while maintaining absolute precision. Your ability to collaborate and build trust with subject matter experts ensures our documentation is both comprehensive and meaningful. Reporting to the Manager, Client Communications, you will contribute to a seamless client experience by delivering content that supports informed decision‑making and reflects our commitment to putting clients at the heart of everything we do.

Work Arrangements

This is a hybrid role. You will work in our office in Waterloo, ON a minimum of two (2) assigned, consecutive days every other week, plus a fifth (5th) assigned day per month. You are welcome to work from the office more than the minimum requirement and there may be some roles that are required to work in our office more than the minimum requirement.

What you’ll do:
  • Translate the most complex technical information into clear, concise, and user-friendly content;
  • Technical understanding of Equitable’sIndividual Insurance products and processes is preferred;
  • Develop and maintain documentation, including contracts, statements, forms, procedures, user guides, FAQs, training materials and more;
  • Manage the writing projects that you are assigned;
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts to gather information and ensure accuracy;
  • Edit and proofread content to ensure clarity, consistency and qualityusingbrand style,toneand voice guidelines;
  • Work closely with the client communications team to align content with company standards and client needsas needed, and provide direction on supporting content such as video scripts,website content and more;
  • Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in technical writing for

    Individual

    Insurance;
  • Align to all content governance systems, workflows, and standards;
  • Coordinate copy translation, approvaldocumentationand final delivery of content;
  • Cooperate at both strategic and operational levels with Product, Design, Operations, Client Impact,Brandand IT team;
  • Develop the client communications practice, building innovative and effective guidelines, bestpracticesand tools;
  • Work with out IT partners on producing, mapping and maintaining variable, dynamic and static content on contracts, statements and other content;
  • Work collaboratively with field teams, operationsteamsand CAX researchers to shape andvalidateyour work;
  • Work with Legal and Compliance to ensure our communications are appropriately and responsibly launched;
