Payments Associate at University of Waterloo

Location: Southwestern Ontario

Join the finance team at the University of Waterloo as a Payments Associate. This full-time role focuses on processing, recording, and safeguarding payments for non-salary expenses.

As a Payments Associate, you will ensure timely and accurate payment processing while adhering to university policies. You will handle various payment methods, manage supplier account records, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives in the payments process.

Key Responsibilities:

• Process and apply payments to suppliers and students

• Review payment transactions for accuracy and compliance

• Prepare foreign payment transactions, including wires

• Update supplier payment addresses and bank details

• Support month-end/year-end closing processes

Requirements:

• Post-secondary courses in accounting or equivalent experience

• Previous accounts payable experience in a computerized environment

• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

• Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities

• Comfort with MS Office, especially Excel
