As our firm continues to grow, we are seeking a Financial Planner or Senior Financial Planner to join our planning team.

This is a unique opportunity to work on sophisticated planning engagements while collaborating with advisors, accountants, lawyers, insurance specialists, and other professionals to deliver exceptional outcomes for clients.

The successful candidate's title and compensation will be determined based on experience, credentials, and demonstrated ability to lead financial planning engagements. Tall Oak maintains distinct Financial Planner and Senior Financial Planner career paths and compensation structures.

The Opportunity

Depending on experience and qualifications, you will either:

  • Lead financial planning engagements for individuals, families, and business owners while developing expertise in increasingly complex planning situations.
  • Independently lead complex planning engagements, mentor developing planners, and contribute to planning methodology and best practices across the firm.

Either way, you will play a key role in helping clients make important financial decisions with confidence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Gather, analyze, and validate client information.
  • Develop comprehensive financial plans and planning recommendations.
  • Model retirement, tax, estate, insurance, and cash‑flow scenarios.
  • Identify planning opportunities and risks.
  • Document planning assumptions and recommendations.
  • Maintain planning files and supporting documentation.
Client Engagement
  • Participate in client meetings.
  • Present financial planning recommendations and strategies.
  • Help clients understand trade‑offs and planning alternatives.
  • Coordinate follow‑up actions and planning updates.
  • Foster long‑term client relationships built on trust.
  • Work closely with Portfolio Managers and Wealth Advisors.
  • Coordinate with accountants, lawyers, insurance professionals, and other specialists.
  • Support implementation of financial planning recommendations.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of planning processes and client experience.
  • Review and provide guidance on planning work prepared by other planners.
  • Mentor junior team members.
  • Assist with planning methodology and process development.
  • Support training and professional development initiatives across the planning team.
What We're Looking For Required
  • CFP®, QAFP®, or another approved Financial Planner credential in good standing.
  • Experience preparing and delivering financial plans.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Excellent analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Significant experience leading comprehensive financial planning engagements.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex client situations independently.
  • Advanced client communication and presentation skills.
  • Strong technical planning knowledge.
Preferred
  • Experience with business‑owner or high‑net‑worth clients.
