Location: Southwestern Ontario
Advance your career in wetland ecology with a full-time role at the University of Waterloo. This position focuses on field and lab work, specifically in wetland environmental monitoring.
As a Wetland Research Technician I, you will support Dr. Rooney's research group by executing field and lab experiments.
Your role emphasizes strong logistical skills for remote projects, ensuring compliance with licensing and safety protocols. You'll conduct biological surveys, collect samples, and maintain lab space while working alongside graduate students.
Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct surveys in remote wetland locations
• Collect and process biological and abiotic samples
• Maintain field and laboratory equipment records
• Perform data entry and quality control
• Collaborate with Dr. Rooney on data refinement
Requirements:
• BSc. in Biology; MSc. preferred
• Minimum 2 years of remote wetland ecology experience
• Knowledge of ArcMAP and MS Office software
• Experience with field equipment operation
• Valid WHMIS 2015 First Aid certification
