Biologist Co-op Internship

Position: Arcadis Biologist Co-op Internship
Location: Southwestern Ontario

Join Arcadis as a Biologist Intern/Co-op and immerse yourself in ecological assessments in Ontario. This role emphasizes practical fieldwork and data collection methodologies.

As part of our Ecological Services team in Markham or Waterloo, you will participate in a 4- or 8-month co-op, supporting vital environmental permitting and field surveys. Ideal candidates will possess a keen interest in both terrestrial and aquatic ecosystems while leveraging technical skills in a collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct flora and fauna inventories in the field

• Utilize GPS equipment for data collection

• Participate in desktop research for environmental assessments

• Assist in preparing maps and field summaries

• Work closely with biologists and environmental scientists

Requirements:

• Actively pursuing a Bachelor’s in Biology, Ecology, or related field

• Previous experience in ecology or environmental sciences preferred

• Familiarity with species identification and monitoring tools

• Experience with GPS or GIS software

• Openness to outdoor fieldwork in varying conditions
