Project Assistant - Accessibility Focus

Engage in impactful accessibility projects as a Project Assistant at Western University. Your focus will involve content creation, project tracking, and enhancing inclusive practices.

You will contribute to the Student Experience department by supporting various project initiatives aimed at fostering an equitable learning environment. Responsibilities include conducting research on accessibility guidelines and developing resources to support students and staff. The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of disability inclusion within education.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist with project tracking, including documenting feedback

• Conduct thorough research for project background materials

• Draft materials ensuring accessibility and plain-language clarity

• Maintain organized records in SharePoint and Teams

• Review documents for equity-informed language and representation

Requirements:

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field

• Minimum one year experience in project coordination or research

• Proficient with Microsoft 365 and document management

• Knowledge of accessibility standards and best practices

• Strong analytical skills with attention to detail
