Become part of the Western University community as a full-time Fire Safety Technician. This contract role focuses on fire hazard mitigation and ensuring compliance with safety standards on campus.
This 22-month temporary position offers an opportunity for those with fire protection expertise. You will conduct inspections and testing in accordance with the Ontario Fire Code and Ontario Building Code. Responsibilities include engaging with students and staff to foster a safer educational environment while ensuring adherence to safety protocols.
Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct fire safety inspections for campus facilities
• Execute technical tests on fire alarm systems
• Ensure compliance with Ontario Fire Code and building standards
• Provide fire safety education for groups and individuals
• Prepare and manage work schedules for fire safety tasks
Requirements:
• Diploma in Fire Protection Engineering Technology
• 2 years' experience in fire alarm testing and inspections
• Knowledge of ULC and NFPA standards
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
• Ability to read blueprints and building plans
