Body Technician

CARSTAR is seeking a skilled and experienced Auto Body and Collision Damage Repairer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you’ll be responsible for repairing damaged vehicles to their pre-accident condition using advanced tools and techniques, while ensuring quality and safety standards are met.
Salary:
Flat Rate
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform collision repairs in accordance with Repair Orders and CARSTAR’s Advanced Process Solutions (APS).
- Make “repair or replace” decisions based on safety, cost, and turnaround time.
- Dismantle vehicles and remove necessary parts to access damaged areas.
- Complete structural, sheet metal, and some mechanical repairs.
- Carry out various welding and metal finishing tasks.
- Communicate effectively with Production Managers and Estimators.
- Meet or exceed performance metrics for efficiency, cycle time, and quality.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Follow all safety protocols and hazardous waste disposal procedures.
- Participate in daily release meetings and complete additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- 2–5 years of auto body collision repair experience.
- High School diploma or GED required.
- 310B Collision Technician Certification required.
- I-CAR certification or ASE training is a strong asset.
- Proficient in using frame straightening and measuring equipment.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
- Must provide own tools.
- Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
Physical Requirements:
- Able to lift and carry up to 80 lbs.
- Extended periods of kneeling, bending, and squatting.
- Performing repetitive motions
- Manual dexterity and coordination to operate equipment.
Exposure to:
- Paint, fumes and particles
- Dirt / Dust
- Chemicals / Toxins
- Varying heat / cold
- Intermittent noise
