Diesel Mechanic, Heavy Equipment Mechanic

Purpose
Maintain vehicles and equipment in operable order. Performs major overhauls and repairs, including hydraulics. Maintains appropriate records.
Education
Required: High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
Preferred: Any vocational or technical school courses or classes in general auto mechanics, air brakes, heavy truck transmissions, diesel engines, hydraulics, and welding
Experience
Required: Minimum of 6 years of experience in auto/medium/heavy duty truck service and repair. Experience in diesel engine components, operation, service and repair. Experience in welding and use of acetylene.
Preferred:
Experience in automotive computer systems, vehicle air conditioning, hydraulics, and anti-lock brake systems is preferred.
License, Special Training, and Certifications
ASE certification in automobile/medium/heavy duty truck is preferred. Must have a valid KY Commercial Driver's License (CDL), minimum Class B, and obtain a class A CDL within 1 year of hire date.
