What You’ll Do

• Works under general direction and requires considerable knowledge of teacher education
• Provides instruction in graphic arts and individual assistance
• Assesses educational needs of inmate
• Develops lesson plans to address those needs to include individual assignments and training
• Provides instruction and individual assistance
• Administers, scores, and interprets examinations and proficiency indicators
• Maintains discipline and/or security
• Counsels students concerning their performance, behavior and/or personal problems
• Attends meetings as required
• Prepares required records and reports (e.g., enrollment, grades, student progress)
• Inventories and orders supplies and materials needed
• Researches, selects, and recommends new teaching materials
• Attends in‑service training sessions and workshops for professional development
• Performs other duties as assigned

Must meet eligibility requirements for Teacher Certificate/License appropriate for career‑tech – graphic arts & grade level as assigned. Teacher 1, 71471, must also have a baccalaureate degree or less per OEA agreement. Applicant must successfully obtain Teacher Certificate or License prior to employment.
